Phoenix Gray knew that if Scarlett and his dad were ever compromised, the only person he could call was Hannah. She was not a spy and wouldn't know the first thing about breaking him out of the Facility, but she was loyal and knew how to lay low.
He wouldn't be able to talk to her directly but he could send her a text message to meet him at a spot outside of town. The only problem was... finding a phone to send the message.
Hannah Grace had been alone in the Gray mansion outside Athens for weeks. She was more than a little worried. She'd called the Embassy numerous times and even left messages on Nigel's cell. Non had been returned. Something was going on and it was freaking her out.
Nigel was the classic Englishman, unflappable, always on time and precise. Well, maybe a little less unflappable than more. But he had always been up front with her. And even before he'd spilled the proverbial beans about Gray's true boss, she'd already known Graham Gray wasn't a normal American Embassy employee.
He didn't go into much detail at the time, but Hannah got the impression Nigel was quite proud of Gray's accomplishments.
